Claire Cullen Biography & Artwork

Claire spent 5 years training as an aprentice with artist Ashley Shaw. Within this time she discovered her own unique style of painting technique, which she carried on developing and improving over the next few years.

In 2005, Claire moved to the artists retreat of St Ives, and began to re-establish herself within the art world, setting up 'Off The Bitten Track' in the Sloop Craft Market where she both worked and exhibited.  She has also enjoyed exhibitions in St Ives, Helston, Henley, Hampshire & London and has private collections around the country.

Claire works in oil and her style of work carries a strong sense of atmosphere and feeling, as she mostly portrays images of the Cornish coast, the thing she finds most inspiring. Even though she often paints landscapes and more 'abstract' subjects, she is always drawn back to the sea in one way or another!

Now, after her recent relocation to Porthleven, Claire will be back working and displaying her art in Off The Bitten Track's brand new premises on the corner of Thomas Street, just a few minutes stroll from the harbour!
